As COVID-19 keeps putting in new highs in terms of New cases, Deaths and recoveries, the morbid state of the stats look overwhelmingly like we have not seen the end.
As of 1 April 2020 Total cases rose to over 930 000, and deaths topped out just short of 50 000.
The outlook in general looks grim. The sense that a new era is upon us seems to be overlooked by many, as the panic ensues and the stress kicks in.
As media posts breaking news almost every hour and all Social Media Gurus become experts in the Fight against COVID-19 or choose to distract us with an alternative narrative. Smart people try find a perfect mathematical formula to predict the spread of the virus on ever changing and incomplete Data. Scientist try find the vaccine, and 90% of the general public are glued to the many sites updating the daily COVID-19 numbers.
The main take away is that the world is changing and there is no need to pick a side and get too involved in the details. Look at the story as a whole and follow the money.
The USA has printed trillions of dollars out of thin air, but there still seems to be a shortage of the Greenback. Billionaires world wide have offered their support to the cause by “donating” loans to banks, to see us through this period. Borrowing money is cheap and that will ultimately lead us to 2 things.
- Many people will borrow money and not change anything in terms of their daily routines, business will go about it like its business as usual.
- Some people will borrow money and build new empires.
As governments lock down countries or extend the lock down periods, be wise with the time we are granted. Make connections and see opportunity amidst the chaos. Be mindful that a new system is making its way into our lives.
Start imagining which business will be able to continue after this is all over. Which industry has enough liquidity to make it through 3 to 6 months of a major pause. Also note all the companies that will be able to continue and thrive.
Major political decisions have been taken around the world in the build up to this. Pick what you do with your network and money wisely.
Major trends that are easily integrated into this new form of life, which have government backing are great opportunities.
Also take note of some of the new “temporary laws” passed like no tobacco and alcohol. These types of decisions can be clear signs of what will be abolished in the near future.
Take your time and make it count as you start building a new business and most of all start speaking to people online. Use social media to network, do NOT get caught up in the hype of things going viral, this is what will shape policy only, your job is to see opportunity in all the madness.
